Once again, another road trip to show my support for an awesome up and
coming band from PA. Now some of you might be thinking, "but she
isn't from IL and isn't the band from PA?" Well, I've known Wit for
a long time now - early 1997 - when he was in a band called Backslider
in England - yes the country. Out of the blue one day some guy, Scott,
sent me an instant message via AOL talking about this "great band"
and the rest is history. When possible, I never miss a chance to see Wit
perform live. Well, as long as it's within a reasonable driving distance!
Not to mention, it's always loads of fun. There were 50 million bands on this bill. Ok not really, but quite a few. Some bearable, others not. It was quite an interesting day to say the least. I also picked up a CD of a local Dayton, OH rap group House ov Cypher. After a couple of bands played, the event was moved in doors due to rainy weather. Although the "stage" area (the floor) was cramped, that didn't stop the band from putting on an amazing set. The crowd was going NUTS! I even heard a couple tunes I had not before, which is always a good thing. Their time ended and we had to load outside in the rain. Oh boy was that fun! haha While we were loading the vehicles, Scott's Jeep DIED and that was even more fun. (note sarcasm) No one had a flashlight so I held down the button on my camera just enough that the flash would light up like a flashlight. A couple times it went off! haha We finally got the Jeep running but it wouldn't stay started. I had to sit in it, foot on the gas, to keep it from dying again. Tom's van was also parked in a muddy field. The guys had a hard time trying to avoid the mud holes but eventually made it out. After driving the Jeep for a few miles, it finally stayed started. It's always an adventure when you travel to see DLF (formerally Watertight)! I come to expect it though. It wouldn't be the same without some chaos! Click on a picture below to view the whole image. |
