about me: My name is Teresa, I'm 38, married (16 years now) and I have
lived in IL all my life. Our son is 15 (eek!) and we have two little monsters.
(our cats) Hubby and I have similar musical interests but he was "born country". Before we met I swore I would DIE before I listened to country music. It's funny how love can influence a person's musical taste! I don't listen to it as often now, but I do find myself searching the radio dial for old favorites every once in a while. Hubby has also gone with me to a lot of concerts. Our son's taste in music has really changed over the years. From the time he was about 4, I noticed he seemed to like the "alternative" one hit wonders just like his Mom! ha ha All his life he has been exposed to a variety of different music styles. Anything from rock, to classic rock, to oldies (50's and 60's), classical, country, Top 40, 80's, R&B/rap, you name it, he's probably heard it. He currently listens to dance, pop, Top 40, and good ol' rock n roll music. And yes, he likes Metallica. A few years ago I asked my own mother why I liked so many different types of music and she told me it was because she played all different kinds of music when I was little. I'm hoping my son will have a well-rounded interest in all types of music too. Our two cats, Wakko and Daisy, were born in March 2001 and we have had them ever since they were 5 weeks old. Even though they are 7 now, they still create chaos in the house every now and again. Of course Wakko loves to lay all over whatever he shouldn't and Daisy loves to chomp on plastic bags. Wakko is the most vocal. He is consantly "talking" (meowing) at us. Sometimes he even talks back when we tell him not to do someting. Both are very loving and we wouldn't trade them in for anything. Before these guys came along, we had Fang. We found him at an animal shelter and he lived with us for 5 years before he passed on. We have owned many other types of animals over the last 16 years. We've had a Beta, a rat, mice, frogs and a bearded dragon. They are all resting comfortably in the back yard. RIP. I also have personalized license plates: MUZK FRK. In 2007, we got rid of hubby's truck, which meant we had to give up his plate: DRAGULA. I hated to have to give it up...It's now a music collectable. | Aside
from hubby, I have a few "die-hard music" friends that I go to
a lot of concerts with. For many years, my concert partner-in-crime was my very good friend Charlene. I cant even count the number of shows we've been to together. We actually met via the internet because of our mutual interest in Motley Crue. We both had gone to the same two Crue shows after we started talking via AOL. Afterwards I found out she video taped one of the shows and I wanted to view it before owning it. She lived 20 minutes from me so we met, I ended up with the video and the rest is history. We have been very good friends since November 1997. Charlene and her boyfriend Flynn were also my Road Trip partners on many, many occasions. These trips were ALWAYS an adventure and they will never be forgotten. "Thanks for all the memories!" Aside from concerts, our kids have grown up together and we've shared many more experiences and have a ton of memories. Too many to try and list here. Another good friend of mine, Kim, I met on the day I met Metallica in 2000. (She was standing in line next to me.) Since I had a camera and she didn't, I offered to take pictures of her with the guys and then mail them to her. She was very appreciative. While standing in line, the more we talked the more we found out we had in common with each other. We were even at the same concert the night before! We kept in touch with each other and became good friends. She even went with me to CA for Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Night. Rob Zombie had designed a maze based on a movie he wrote/directed called House of 1000 Corpses. Since Halloween is my second fave holiday (next to Christmas) I thought it would be a lot of fun. You can view that story and see all kinds of pictures from our weekend here. Since then, Kim and I have been to more than a few concerts together and we've flown out to CA to see Metallica three times now. ;) In May 2004, I met Jess. (the 3rd "Metalli-musketeer" hehe) A little back history: Prior to the May 2004 Metallica show in Madison, WI I had communicated briefly with someone on the Metallica Club message board. I didnt know anything about this person other than her screen name, that she was going to the show and that we had the same birthday. Well, fast-forward to the day of the show. Kim and I arrived early and stood in line at one of many doors to the venue on the backside of the bldg. Not long after we had been in line, a group of girls got in line behind us. Eventually we started talking and realized we were all Club members. Everyone asked each others PPM screen names and BOY WAS I SURPRISED to find that the person I shared a birthday with just so happened to be in line behind me. WTH? What are the odds of THAT happening, ya know? I mean, any of us could have lined up at any door but nope, we all ended up in the same line. Kim, Jess and I made it to the rail that night. Aside from the the chaos of the crowd all freakin' night and feeling the effects of that for a few days afterwards, we saw an amazing show. It was the first of many the three of us would attend together. After that Metallica show Jess and I kept in contact and got together on a few occasions. The more we talked the more we found we had a lot of similar interests. But there were also freakier coincidences other than sharing a b-day. She and her husband's wedding annv is the same day as my husband's b-day. Also, the first three letters of her standard issued liscense plate (TAJ) is how Ive been signing Christmas gifts for years. In a short amount of time Jess has really become a great friend! Click on a picture below to view the whole image. |
